Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
