Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners parties.
Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
