Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
He saved four initial break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
